Alissa's Story

Hi, I'm Alissa. I was normal active kid until one day I broke my ankle. It healed orthopedically, but I was still in severe pain. After a very long time of doctor's telling me nothing was wrong, it was determined that I developed a rare nerve disorder from the ankle break. Finally after numerous doctors and medical procedures, I was sent to a hospital out of town for 8 weeks and I can now run and play again. I endured excruciating pain that others should never face. Through my journey I met other inspirational kids facing much more difficult circumstances than my own, and dedicated doctors and medical staffs that gave me back my life and helped me realize that sometimes your best source of help is within yourself.

I don't have a fancy computer or software program, but I do have a story that could help other children. Here is my story, here is my song.
